We are all interested in the future for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown, the mysterious, the unexplainable. That is why you are here. And now for the first time, we are bringing to you the full story of what happened on that fateful day. We are giving you all the evidence based only on the secret testimony of the miserable souls who survived this terrifying ordeal. The incidents, the places: my friend, we can keep this a secret any longer. Let us punish the guilty, let us reward the innocent. My friend, can your heart stand the shocking facts about graverobbers from outer space?

Which begs the question: is this taking place in the future or the past?

This is the opening narration from Plan 9 From Outer Space, commonly referred to as the worst movie ever made. Last night, I sat through the entire thing, and I’m in shock at how the producers thought this was a good movie. The chase scenes constantly change from day to night, strings are clearly visible on the spaceships, and gravestones keep falling over. One of the main characters actually died halfway through production, so they just hired another guy who kept a cape over his face. Yeah. The plot revolves around Earth being close to creating a bomb that will “explode sunlight.” Listening to them describe the process was like having a toddler explain integral differentiation to me.

Interestingly, the movie is in public domain, and can be viewed in full on Google Video. I was about to say something like “Enjoy!” or “Check it out!”, but I feel “Endure!” would be more appropriate.
