Echochrome: if Escher made video games July 19, 2007

At E3, a game called Echochrome was introduced. It’s the kind of game M.C. Escher would have made. The idea is that a little character walks along a minimalistic path peppered with gaps and pits. The player controls only the camera angle, but that’s the cool part. If you rotate the camera so that you can’t see a hazard, it essentially doesn’t exist. Also, if you angle the camera so that two paths look like they meet, the character can walk from one to the other as if they do meet. The game is based on OLE Coordinate System.
