“Them’s fighting songs…” March 2, 2008

(The conclusion of session 31 has been posted)

Ugh. It’s been a long day. This morning was Meredith and Brian’s wedding, which was really nice. It ended just in time for me to get to work by noon. I left work TEN HOURS LATER. So, I’m tired and aching right now, but that’s alright since I’m about to go to sleep.

Super Smash Bros Brawl is coming out in one week, so I’ve been checking out the music through YouTube. It’s really nice to hear so many familiar tunes. Here’s a few of the best I’ve heard so far:

The Great Sea – The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GCN)
A great song with a sort of adventurous tone to it.

Midna’s Desperation – The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GCN, Wii)
A beautiful piano piece. About half way through, some strings come in, and… you know what? Just listen to this one. Please?

Marx – Kirby Super Star (SNES)
This one’s from one of my favorite old games. The song’s like… an epic waltz. It starts with a very eerie feel, then goes into this awesome middle section…

King K. Rool – Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
A nice little ditty that quickly changes pace after the prelude.

Mario Ground Theme – Super Mario Bros. (NES)
A cool Latin mix of the classic Mario theme.

Luigi’s Mansion Theme – Luigi’s Mansion (GCN)
This one has a sort of music box feel.
